Food and wine
The cuisine in the Chianti territory is genuine, affectionate and linked to tradition with shades of new combinations. Famous all over the world with its unmistakable flavour, extra virgin olive oil is a very precious ally for various recipes. It is at the base of our specialties, playing a leading role in the Mediterranean diet. The simplicity of the “Fettunta” (toasted bread with olive oil and garlic) or bruschetta (toasted bread with tomatoes and olive oil) introduces the fullness of the flavours and aromas of the ribollita (vegetable and bread soup). Excellent meat, steaks, wild boar and Cinta Senese ham and cured meats; tasty cheese, always accompanied by a glass of Chianti Classico or Riserva, appreciated all over the world. On every corner, there are small shops, where visitors can have a look around and taste products, and especially many wine cellars to be visited, where every wine-maker will invite their guests to taste their own wine. Moreover, it is possible to sign up for cooking classes lasting even half a day.
